Saxon Signs With Minnesota

The Minnesota men's tennis program announced today that Dellwood, Minn., native Tucker Saxon has signed an acceptance of admission.

The senior at Mahtomedi High School is the three-time defending Section 4AA singles champion and played high school varsity tennis since seventh grade. He was Mahtomedi's No. 1 singles player the last four years, was a five-time letter winner and a multiple team MVP recipient.

Saxon, who is a four-star recruit according to tennisrecruiting.net, paired with future Minnesota teammate Erik Frueh to win the 2011 Northern Sectional Doubles title. He also won the 2011 Mobile National Open doubles championship and placed third in singles.

Saxon is a two-time USTA Zonal Sportsmanship Award recipient and a three-time Zonal participant. In addition to being a student council member and receiving academic honors for four years in high school he was also a 2010 Junior Davis Cup Team participant.
