The University of Minnesota men's tennis team and three of its players were recently recognized by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) for their commitment to academic excellence during the 2010-11 school year.

Rok Bonin, Derek Peterson and Tobias Wernet were all named to the ITA All-Academic Team for earning a varsity letter and for having a GPA above 3.5. Bonin will be a junior next season, while Peterson and Wernet exhausted their playing eligibility last year.

The team was honored for having a collective GPA above 3.2 among those individuals who earned a varsity letter.

The Gophers finished the 2010-11 season with a 19-6 record. They finished third in the Big Ten in the regular season, but advanced to the Big Ten tournament final and made the NCAA tournament.
