The Minnesota Golden Gophers wrapped up the weekend at the 2012 Dick Vitale Clay Court Classic in Lakewood Ranch, Fla.
"It was really good for our guys to play the way they did this weekend," said Head Coach Geoff Young. "Ruben [Weber] played his best tennis of the fall season and Juan [Pablo Ramirez] played some of the best I've seen during his time at the U of M. Our doubles team was able to get to the finals and do some good things there as well. Overall, I think it was a great way to end the tournament and close out the fall."
Mathieu Froment and Juan Pablo Ramirez capped off their run in the championship match of the doubles draw. The duo faced the tournament's No. 6 seed Gordon Watson and Billy Federhofer of Florida for the title, falling 8-2 to finish second.
