The win improved Arndt and his freshman partner to 5-1 this season.

In singles, Toledo put Minnesota up 2-0 with a straight-set win against Erasmus at No. 3 singles. The Gophers then went up 3-0 after Mathieu Froment won 6-2, 6-4 against Ben Mullis at the sixth position.

Drake earned its first point of the night after Goodman beat Hamburg 6-3, 7-5 at No. 4 and then made it a 3-2 match after McKie topped Arndt in straight sets at the second spot.

Minnesota then won the final two matches to pull away and earn the 5-2 win. Julian Dehn clinched the match for the Gophers with a three-set win at No. 5. Dehn lost the first set, but then rebounded for a 1-6, 6-4, 6-4 triumph against Salibasic.

Dehn's doubles partner Bonin also lost the first set of his singles match before rallying for a 4-6, 6-4, 7-6 (5) win at No. 1 singles against No. 82 Ghorbel. It was the first time Bonin had played No. 1 singles this year and the win pushed his season record to a team-best 7-1.

Minnesota heads to California for its annual spring break trip this week. The Gophers play at No. 8 California on March 15 and at No. 56 Cal Poly on March 17. Minnesota's next home match is March 23 against Big Ten foe Michigan State.
