The Minnesota men's tennis team will make the trek to the University of Tulsa to take part in the USTA/ITA Central Regional Tournament at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center starting Friday and ending Monday.

Gopher players Leandro Toledo, Jack Hamburg, Mathieu Froment, Eric Frueh, Ruben Weber, and Franz Sydow will compete in the tournament's main draw. Each participant, with the exception of Toledo, who played at the ITA All-American Championships in Tulsa earlier in the month, will be opening his 2013-14 season. Sydow will be making his Minnesota debut.

The tournament starts on Thursday with 71 qualifiers fighting for eight open spots in the main draw. The final 16 qualifying matches play on Friday morning to make up the 64-field of the main draw.

The singles champion and the doubles champion, which will be determined Monday, gets an automatic bid to the National Indoor Intercollegiate Tournament at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows, N.Y., from Nov. 7-10.
