With Championships Season over, the Minnesota Swimming and Diving Program gathered for their year-end banquet after a season of some amazing accomplishments.
The 2013-14 men's season wrapped up with an 8-1 season record, a 4th place finish at the Big Ten Championships, and an 18th place finish at the NCAA Championships. 2014 also brought four new Minnesota records including Derek Toomey becoming the first Big Ten swimmer to race the 50-yard freestyle under 19 seconds with an 18.95. Toomey also broke his own record in the 100-yard freestyle with a 42.42. Senior Kyler Van Swol also nabbed two records in both the 100-yard butterfly (46.16) and the 200-yard butterfly (1:43.37).
The 2013-14 women's season finished with an undefeated 9-0 season, a third-straight B1G Championship, and a 10th place finish at the NCAA Championships. The 800-yard freestyle relay team of Tori Simenec, Lauren Votava, Jessica Plant, and Kiera Janzen broke the Minnesota record with a time of 7:00.04.
