Gophers Hosting Nebraska, Traveling to Iowa

The Minnesota Gophers host Nebraska on Friday night, and travel to Iowa on Sunday. The Gophers are set to take on the Cornhuskers at 6 p.m. Friday and the Hawkeyes at 3 p.m. Sunday.
Minnesota is coming off a 6-1 victory at Hawaii defeating the Rainbow Warriors to close out their nonconference season.
The young Gophers squad comes into this weekend 5-3 at home and 6-9 overall. They are 0-1 to start conference play this season after winning the Big Ten last year.
The Lineup
Matic Spec has played in the No. 1 spot in all but one match, and is 7-6 there on the season with an 11-8 overall record.
Felix Corwin started the season in the No. 2 spot, but has recently moved to the No. 4 and 5 spots. He currently sits with a 10-9 overall record.
Ruben Weber has a team leading 15-8 singles record. He has consistently played at the No. 2 spot, holding a 7-4 record there.
Freshmen Justyn Levin and Josip Krstanovic have both played in the No. 3, 4 and 5 spots. Levin is has a 10-12 overall singles record this season. Krstanovic joined the team for the spring season, holding a record of 5-9.
Another freshman in Marino Alpeza has gotten matches in at the No. 5 and 6 spot and is 11-11 this season. Jeremy Lynn grabbed two wins at the No. 6 spot this season as well.
Doubles
The Gophers duo of Spec and Corwin have proven to be one of the nation's top doubles team. They are ranked No. 23 and sit as the second highest ranked Big Ten doubles tandem. They have picked up two wins this season over now No. 5 Arjun Kadhe and Julian Cash and are now 7-3 overall.
In February, Weber and Alpeza took over the No. 1 doubles spot and hold a 7-7 record. At No. 2 doubles, Lynn and Spec are 6-3 and at No. 3 doubles, Krstanovic and Levin are 6-4.
About Nebraska
No. 71 Nebraska holds a 10-4 overall record, with all losses coming from ranked opponents. The Cornhuskers are currently 3-1 away, and 7-3 at home. Nebraska has swept teams five times this season, and is on a five-game win streak. The No. 71 rank is the first ranking ITA Top 75 this season.
Seniors Dusty Boyer and Marc Herrmann have led the Huskers in singles play this season. Boyer is an All-Big Ten competitor, and has played at the No.1 spot all reason, earning an 11-2 singles record. Herrmann holds a team-best singles record of 12-2 at the No. 2 position.
Brothers and doubles pair Dusty and Toby Boyer have earned top 80 rankings this season at the No. 1 spot. Toby Boyer also holds an 11-2 record at the No. 3 singles spot.
About Iowa
The No. 52 Hawkeyes are 7-7 this season, with a 5-1 record at home and 1-4 away. Iowa is riding a five-game loss streak after losing to ranked Cal Poly. Four of the Hawkeyes' seven wins were against ranked opponents.
The Hawkeyes are led by doubles tandem Jake Jacoby and Lefteris Theodorou. The pair is 7-4 at the No. 1 spot. Dominic Patrick and Josh Silverstein hold a strong 9-5 record at the No. 2 spot. In singles, Jacoby is 9-3 at the No. 6 spot and Lefteris is 8-2 at the No. 2 spot and 3-1 at the No. 1 spot.
