ITA Central Regional Descends on Baseline This Week

The Gopher Men's Tennis will enjoy the pleasures of a home court advantage for the first time this season while welcoming the best teams in the region to the 2017 ITA Central Regional Championship presented by Oracle beginning Thursday at Baseline Tennis Center.
Gopher Participants
Seniors Felix Corwin and Matic Spec headline the field for the Maroon & Gold, but the entire line-up has been entered into the singles tournament. Rookies Vlad Lobak and Kaleb Dobbs will make their Gophers debut on the court.
Additionally, five pairs - Corwin and Spec; juniors Justyn Levin and Josip Krstanovic; junior Marino Alpeza and sophomore Eli Ogilvy; sophomore Stefan Milicevic and Lobak, and freshman Jackson Allen and junior Jesse Sprinkel will take the court for Minnesota in the doubles draw.
Participanting Institutions
Other competing programs include Arkansas, Creighton, Iowa, North Dakota, Missouri-Kansas City, Tulsa, Nebraska, Omaha, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Oral Roberts, South Dakota State, St. Louis, and Wichita State.
Tournament Format
The tournament will feature single-elimination singles and doubles main draws. While a full consolation bracket will not take place, players and teams sticking around through the weekend will have the opportunity to play ITA sanctioned backdraw matches.
