Trio heads to California for Fall Nationals

The Gopher Men's Tennis program will be split in two locations this week as the team's trio of ITA Central Region Champions will head to California for the 2017 Oracle ITA National Fall Championships beginning Wednesday. The remainder of the Gophers' line-up will be in action later this week at the Minnesota-hosted Gopher Invitational. Stay tuned later this week for information on that event.
Gopher Participants
Seniors Felix Corwin and Matic Spec will represent the Maroon & Gold after winning the ITA Regional doubles tournament, defeating Oklahoma State's Artur Dubinski and Lefty Theodorou earlier this month in the finals. Sophomore Stefan Milicevic earned his bid simply by making the finals of the ITA Central Regional, but he completed the victory by defeating Toby Boyer of Nebraska for the singles title.
Tournament Format
The five-day tournament will feature a 64-entry men's and women's singles main draw with a full consolation bracket in addition to a 32-team men's and women's doubles main draw with a full consolation tournament. The first rounds of each tournament will be contested Wednesday with subsequent rounds on the days to follow. Each competitor is guaranteed just two matches.
