No. 32 Minnesota Falls 5-2 to No. 15 Michigan

Ann Arbor, Mich. - No. 32 University of Minnesota was defeated 5-2 Friday by No. 15 Michigan at the Varsity Tennis Center.
The Gophers are now 14-6 overall this season and 3-3 in Big Ten Play. This marks the third time the Maroon and Gold have been defeated on the road.
Doubles
The evening began with Runhao Hua and Alex Knight defeating Justyn Levin and Eli Ogilvy 6-3 in the No. 2 spot. Soon after, the Wolverines clinched the doubles point when Josip Krstanovic and Marino Alpeza fell 6-3 to Myles Schalet and Kevin Wong in the No. 3 spot.
No. 69 Felix Corwin and Matic Spec took on No. 10 Jathan Malik and Connor Johnston in the No. 1 spot. The duo from Michigan was leading 5-3 when the match was left unfinished because of the clinched point.
Singles
The first singles match of the night to finish featured two nationally ranked student-athletes. No. 80 Spec took on No. 92 Malik in the No. 1 spot with Malik coming out victorious 6-2, 6-0.
Michigan took a 3-0 lead when No. 90 Schalet defeated freshman Stefan Milicevic 6-1, 6-4 in the No. 3 spot. This is only the sixth loss in dual matches for Milicevic who has 12 wins during the spring.
Knight clinched the victory for the Wolverines with a 6-1, 6-4 win over Corwin in the No. 2 spot. The next match to finish was the No. 4 spot where Ogilvy fell to Hua 6-2, 7-5.
Krstanovic picked up the first Minnesota victory of the night when he defeated Carter Lin in the final set of the No. 5 spot. Krstanoic won the first set 6-2 but fell in a close second set 6-7 (4). The sophomore bounced back in the final set winning 10-4, improving his dual match record to 12-5.
The final match of the night saw Alpeza defeat Davis Crocker in the third set from the No. 6 spot. Alpeza fell in the first set 4-6 but battled for a 7-5 victory in the second set before closing out the win with a 10-3 third set. Alpeza is now 11-5 in dual matches and 7-3 from the No. 6 spot.
