Final Results

The University of Minnesota women's gymnastics team began the competitive season with a quad-meet victory, posting a final score of 194.200 to edge out Maryland, Northern Illinois and Winona State.

"It was a great start for the team. We had a fantastic crowd here tonight, so I think the team really enjoyed and fed off that energy," head coach Jenny Hansen said.

The Gophers welcomed over 2,500 into the Maturi Pavilion for the meet. They were led by Lexy Ramler, who won the all-around title with a 39.000, in her collegiate debut.

VAULT

Freshmen Ramler and Ona Loper both earned top scores of 9.775 on the vault. They shared in a five-way tie for the event's top score. Paige Williams posted the third best Gophers' vault score with a 9.725.

BARS

On the uneven parallel bars, Ivy Lu earned a 9.900 and the event title. Ramler followed for the Gophers with a 9.850. Rachel Rowland and Hannah Hitchcock each posted a 9.775.

The Gophers compiled 48.950 total points on the bars, which was their strongest event of the night.

BEAM

Ramler earned the meet's top balance beam score with a 9.925. It was the highest single-event score achieved by any competitor all evening. Loper and Rachel Cutler followed Ramler with scores of 9.850 and 9.825, respectively.

FLOOR

Williams tied for the meet's top floor routine with a 9.800.

"I was just reminding myself to breathe, to have fun on floor routine and show it off," Williams said.

"Paige has been battling some injuries and she pulled through for us tonight. She's really strong mentally and she did a great job," Hansen added. "She really trusted in her abilities."

Ciara Gardner had the second-best floor score for the Gophers with a 9.725.

Fans are encouraged to bring unused books and coloring books that will be donated to the Masonic Children's Hospital in their honor. All fans who donate a book will be entered to win the same leotard that the Gophers wear during meets. Fans are also encouraged to wear pink to the meet and free pink t-shirts will be handed out as supplies last.
