COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. – The University of Minnesota men's cross country team scored a perfect team score of 15 on Friday evening to win St. John's Fall Finale while unattached freshman Khalid Hussein picked up the individual crown to give the Maroon & Gold its 12th-straight individual medalist at the race.

With a winning time of 25:01, Hussein paced the field of 71 runners in the eight-kilometer race in Collegeville, continuing a streak of dominance by runners with ties to the Maroon & Gold that dates back David Van Orsdel's win in 2007.

Meanwhile, the Gophers also carried the top six attached competitors for its third team championship of the season. Joey Duerr led all attached runners with a second-place finish and a time of 25:07 followed by Hamza Ali in third at 25:28, Jordan MacIntosh in fourth at 25:37, Alex Plasencia in fifth and Hunter Staack in sixth at 25:44.

Declan Dahlberg added a seventh-place finish at 25:55 as an unattached runner while Dawson LaRance finished eighth at 25:57.

Minnesota returns to action with the NCAA Midwest Regional on Friday, Nov. 9 in Peoria, Ill.
