COLLEGE STATION, Texas - The University of Minnesota men's track & field program claimed six All-Americans this weekend at the 2018 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships, held at Texas A&M's Gilliam Indoor Track Stadium.

Representing the Maroon & Gold as Second Team All-Americans were Teddy Frid in the heptathlon, Ryan Lockard in the high jump and the 4x400 meter relay team of Matthew Baker, Jonathan Webb, Ben Psicihulis and Jackson Wellenstein.

Teddy Frid led the way for Minnesota with a 10th-place finish in the heptathlon in his first appearance at the Division I national championships. A two-time Division II All-American at the University of Sioux Falls, Frid recorded a personal record with his point total of 5,717 over the two-day competition in College Station. Frid remains fourth all-time at Minnesota in the event. Frid notched personal records in four out of seven events over the weekend including a pair of personal bests on Saturday. His personal record of 4.86 meters (15-11.25 ft.) in the pole vault netted 868 points while his personal record of 2:38.00 in the 1,000 meters added 896 points. Frid also picked up 925 points in the 60-meter hurdle on Saturday with his time of 8.23.

On Friday, Frid picked up personal records of 7.10 in the 60 meters (847 points) and 1.99 meters (6-06.25 ft.) in the high jump (794 points). He added 781 points in the long jump at 6.86 meters (22-06.25 ft.) and 606 points in the shot put at 12.00 meters (39-04.50 ft.).

Meanwhile, senior Ryan Lockard claimed his second career Second Team All-America accolade with a 12th-place showing in the high jump. Lockard cleared 2.15 meters (7-00.50 ft.) in his final appearance at the NCAA indoor championships.

The Maroon & Gold closed out the national championships with a 12th-place finish in the 4x400 meters as Matthew Baker, Jonathan Webb, Ben Psicihulis and Jackson Wellenstein clocked a 3:08.20 in the final men's event of the competition. It is the first All-America honor for Baker, Webb and Psicihulis while Wellenstein picked up his second indoor All-America nod (2017 Second Team in the distance medley relay) and third overall career accolade (2016 Second Team in the outdoor 4x400 meter relay).

With the indoor campaign coming to a close today, the Gophers kick off the outdoor season next weekend at Arizona State's Baldy Castillo Invitational in Tempe, Ariz.
