No. 37 Gophers Fall to No. 3 Buckeyes in Semis

IOWA CITY, Iowa. - The No. 37 University of Minnesota Men's Tennis program fell to No. 3 Ohio State 4-1 in the Semifinals of the Big Ten tournament. No. 79 Felix Corwin bested No. 5 Mikael Torpegaard 6-3, 6-4 in No. 1 singles, giving Minnesota their lone point in the match.
Corwin held firm control over his opponent for the entirety of the match, earning revenge over his three-set loss in their last match-up earlier in the season.
With the match tied at 1-1 after Corwin's win, the Buckeyes roared back to take control of the match, winning the No. 6, 2 and 4 spots consecutively to clinch the win and advance to the championship of the Big ten Tournament.
Despite the loss, Minnesota battled in every matchup in singles play, with Josip Krstanovic falling in three sets with No. 95 Kyle Seelig. No. 81 Stefan Milicevic and Jackson Allen both competing in unfinished matches against ranked opponents.
No. 90 Matic Spec fell in straight sets to No. 40 JJ Wolf 7-6, 7-5, but gave Wolf trouble throughout the match. Spec's loss ends his win streak at nine matches.
