Stefan Milicevic Heads to ITA Fall Nationals

Gophers senior Stefan Milicevic is set to participate in the 2019 Oracle ITA National Fall Championships in Newport Beach, Calif. The Round of 64 of the men's singles draw begins Nov. 6 at 10 a.m. CST and runs until the men's singles championship is played on Sunday, Nov. 10.
The Oracle ITA National Fall Championships features 64 of the nation's top collegiate singles players, and also is the only tournament on the collegiate tennis calendar that features student-athletes from all five divisions playing in the same bracket. This year marks the third year of the tournament's existence, as it replaced the ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships in 2017.
Senior Stefan Milicevic will participate in the tournament for the second time of his Maroon & Gold career, with the first being back in 2017 when Milicevic received automatic qualification by winning the 2017 ITA Central Region title in singles. This year, Milicevic's runner-up finish in the ITA Central Region singles tournament earned him yet another automatic qualification. In his first Fall Nationals appearance in 2017, Milicevic advanced to the Round of 32 before falling.
No matter the result, the Gophers senior is just excited for the opportunity to play against the best players in the nation. "Fall Nationals is a fun tournament to play in because there will be all of the top players from around the country playing," Stefan Milicevic said. "I'm looking forward to playing against them because matches against players like this provide useful insight on what I can work on after the fall season. That'll give me the best chance to perform at my best when the spring season comes."
