Preview: Gophers at Clemson Invitational

CLEMSON, S.C. – The Gopher Rowing team closes out regular season competition at the 21-team Clemson Invitational this weekend on Lake Hartwell in South Carolina. Inclement weather could delay the start of the action on Friday in Clemson.
Minnesota (R.V.) competed at the Big Ten Double Dual last weekend at Iowa, posting impressive results against the host Hawkeyes during the afternoon session in Iowa City.
Gophers in the Polls
Minnesota ranks among the teams receiving votes just outside the top-20 in this week's poll. Six Big Ten teams stand in the top 20 this week with yet another joining the Gophers just on the outside
The Field
This week's 21-team field includes 18 teams that have been nationally ranked or among the teams receiving votes outside of the top 25 during this season. In the field are the host Tigers, No. 10 Virginia, No. 12 Wisconsin, No. 17 Duke, No. 18 Oregon State, No. 20 Alabama, Louisville (R.V.), Penn (R.V.), UCF (R.V.), UCLA (R.V.), Washington State (R.V.), Boston University, Cornell, Dartmouth, Navy, Oklahoma, San Diego, Syracuse, Tennessee, and Tulsa.
Venue
The Clemson Rowing boathouse is located on Lake Hartwell on the western end of campus. Lake Hartwell contains 962 miles of shorelines and over 56,000 acres of water.
