Gophers Selected to Face San Diego in NCAA First Round

The Minnesota men's tennis team was selected among the 64-team field for the NCAA Championship, announced Monday evening. The Gophers will travel to Los Angeles, where they will meet the San Diego Toreros in first round action.
Minnesota will face San Diego at noon on Friday, while Live Scoring for the match can be found here.
The Maroon and Gold are marking their third straight team appearance in the NCAA Tournament, coming off last year's appearance in the Sweet 16, their first since 2000. Overall, it is the 28th appearance in program history for the Gophers.
The Gophers advanced to the second round of the Big Ten Tournament last week before falling to top-seeded Ohio State, and have amassed a record of 16-9 this year.
A win against San Diego would set up a matchup between the winner of USC and Northern Arizona in the second round at 1 pm on Saturday.
