Gophers Set to Begin Competition at NCAA Zone D Diving Championships

Nine Gopher divers are set to begin competition at the 2020 NCAA Zone D Diving Championships on Monday in Dallas, Tex.
 
The Championships run from March 9-11 and are held at the Robson & Lindley Aquatics Center and Barr-McMillion Natatorium on the Southern Methodist University campus.
 
Over the course of three days, select Minnesota divers will be aiming for a berth at the 2020 NCAA Championships across the 1-meter springboard, 3-meter springboard and platform. Below is a list of the divers that will be competing at Diving Zones for the Maroon and Gold, with their season-bests in each event included.

Hannah Craley – 1-meter (306.65), 3-meter (302.35), platform (164.25)
Jaclynn Fowler – 1-meter (288.90), 3-meter (347.20), platform (195.00)
Duncan Lester – 1-meter (306.15), 3-meter (315.50), platform (259.50)
Jeremy Moser – 1-meter (331.60), 3-meter (342.83), platform (313.95)
Ryan Phillip – 1-meter (291.15), 3-meter (359.90), platform (262.15)
Maxim Royzen – 1-meter (311.47), 3-meter (319.65) platform (322.35)
Jae Sarkis – 1-meter (275.10), 3-meter (297.08), platform (197.55)
Joy Zhu – 1-meter (316.20), 3-meter (346.40)

The three-day event begins with the women's 1-meter and men's 3-meter on Monday, March 9. On Tuesday, the men and women will flip-flop, with the men competing in the 1-meter and the women on the 3-meter. Both the men and women will wrap up Zone D Diving with the platform on Wednesday.
 
In all preliminary sessions, scores will be carried over into the next segment, with 18 divers advancing into each respective finals session.

For those who qualify, the 2020 NCAA Championships will be held from March 18-21 (Athens, Ga.) for the women and from March 25-28 (Indianapolis) for the men.
