MINNEAPOLIS - With another day of competition at the 2021 Big Ten Conference Championships in the books, the Minnesota Gophers women's swimming and diving program dropped three spots from last night's placement to eighth with 164Ā points.

The highlight individual event of the day for the Gophers was the 50 free, as three Gophers qualified for the night's finals session. Sophomore Maggie Summit led the way for Minnesota, coming in 15th (22.77), while junior Olivia Bloomer and freshman Pyper Doo finished 21stĀ (23.09) and 22nd (23.10), respectively.

Summit's finals time came in just behind her preliminary split (22.74), which marked both a lifetime best and NCAA 'B' Cut for the Rowley, Mass. native.

Sophomore Jordan McGinty was the lone Gopher to reach the night's finals session in the 200 IM, finishing 23rd overall in a time of 2:00.27, reflecting almost half a second improvement from her preliminary time.

The Gophers once again impressed in the night's sole relay event, as the team of Cook, Lezer, Linscott and Doo touched sixth (3:37.51) in the 400 Medley Relay.

Lifetime Bests

Four Gophers managed to haul in lifetime bests through day two.
