Gophers Fall 4-0 to Michigan in B1G Second Round

Minnesota will hope for an NCAA berth as they await Monday's Selection Show
LINCOLN, Neb. - The University of Minnesota men's tennis team dropped a 4-0 sweep to the No. 23 Michigan Wolverines on Friday afternoon, as the Golden Gophers struggled to get any momentum going in either style of play.
The Gophers fall to 9-7 on the season as they await to hear if their season will continue during the NCAA Tournament Selection Show on Monday, May 3 at 5:30PM CT. Michigan will move onto the conference semifinals to take on Illinois on Saturday afternoon.
Doubles Play
Michigan got the early jump on Friday's match after two quick match wins in the No. 2 and No. 3 singles slots, as the Gopher pairings of Vlad Lobak/Bodin Zarkovic and Kaleb Dobbs/Siim Troost both fell in their matches.
Jackson Allen and Sebastian Vile held their own in their match against No. 45 pairing of Andrew Fenty and Mattias Siimar, however their match would be left unfinished with a 5-6 score in favor of the Wolverine duo.
Singles Play
Needing only three singles wins to move on in the Big Ten tournament, it was Michigan again who held the edge in singles play as they were able to clinch with three straight set victories.
Vlad Lobak was the first Gopher to fall as he dropped a tough match against a high-level opponent, in Andrew Fenty by a score of 6-1, 6-2, while Sebastian Vile and Daniel Martin also both lost in straight sets to allow Michigan to claim the win.
The matches including Jackson Allen, Dylan Heap and Siim Troost all went unfinished as the trio was looking to battle back from first set losses.
