Dual Meet at Wisconsin Up Next for Swim and Dive

MINNEAPOLIS – The Minnesota women's and men's swimming and diving teams, both ranked No. 25 in the CSCAA rankings, take to the road this weekend for a Big Ten dual at Wisconsin Friday.
Competition starts at 4 p.m. at the Soderholm Family Aquatic Center. A stream of the event can be found on B1G+, while live scoring will be available on the Meet Mobile app (paid subscription required for both).
The Gopher women are 5-0 on the dual meet season, including 1-0 in the Big Ten, with victories over Nebraska, South Dakota, SMU, St. Thomas and South Dakota State.
Junior Megan Van Berkom has been the top performer for the women this season, posting the top time in four separate events: 500 free (4:54.43), (200 fly (1:59.44), 200 IM (2:01.33) and 400 IM. Her time of 4:16.69 in the 400 IM recorded against SMU was the first NCAA 'B' cut of the season for the women.
Sophomore Hannah Cornish (50, 100 and 200 free), fifth-year senior Joy Zhu (1- and 3-meter diving) and freshman Faith Johnson (100 and 200 back) have also posted the top results in multiple events. In fact, Zhu is the three-time reigning Big Ten Diver of the Week for her efforts, winning each event in which she's competed this season.
In addition, seniors Emma Lezer (100 breast) and Kate Sullivan (1000 free), and freshmen Grace Drabot (200 breast) and Ava Yablonski (100 fly) all have the top times in their respective events.
The Minnesota men are also undefeated on the young season at 4-0, scoring victories against South Dakota, SMU, St. Thomas and South Dakota State. Friday will be the team's first competition in conference play.
Junior Kaiser Neverman can lay claim to being the top Gopher performer in four events so far this season with the 100 (44.42) and 200 free (1:38.58), as well as the 100 (47.80) and 200 fly (1:48.50).
Fifth-year senior captain Max McHugh has posted all three 'B' cuts on the men's side, doing so once in the 100 breast and twice so far in the 200 breast. Fellow senior captain Desmon Sachtjen has the backstroke covered with the fastest times in the 100 and 200, while junior William Christenson boasts top times in the 200 and 400 IM and freshman Drew Bennett leads the Gophers in both 1- and 3-meter diving.
In addition, redshirt junior Lucas Farrar (50 free), junior Chris Nagy (1000 free) and sophomore Bar Soloveychik (500 free) have top billing in their own events.
