Gophers Scrimmage Drake on the Mississippi

The Gophers return to action next weekend at the B1G Invitational in Sarasota, Fla.
MINNEAPOLIS -- The Gopher rowing program returned to the water on Saturday, hosting Drake on the Mississippi River at the Irene Claudia Kroll Boathouse on campus. The crews hit the Mississippi in two shifts with a series of 5' pieces in the morning and 1' pieces in the early afternoon. Results for the scrimmage will not be made public.
"This was a great opportunity for both teams to get some additional side-by-side race pace work in before we head to the B1G Invitational this next week," Minnesota assistant coach Victoria West said. "It was great to see the 4+'s and 8+'s battle it out on the Mississippi and work on all parts of our race. We are grateful that Drake made the drive up this weekend and look forward to repeating this next year!"

Minnesota continues the 2021-22 campaign this week, leaving on Wednesday for Florida where the Gophers will race at the B1G Invitational on April 15-16 at Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota.
