MINNEAPOLIS -- The University of Minnesota track and field program had 17 student-athletes compete at the 2022 Hamline Invitational in St. Paul, Minn., on Saturday. Minnesota picked up five event victories across the men's and women's events, highlighted by Julia Hayes in the 100m hurdles.

In her first outdoor action of the season Hayes made a big mark in the 100m hurdles, posting the fifth-fastest time in program history at 13.83. Hayes time goes down as the 10th fastest in the Big Ten this season and was good enough to earn her the meet record and a victory.

Minnesota went on to win another four victories throughout the meet, with Taylor Krone posting a personal record in the 1500m to win the event in a time of 4:34.45. Krone also was the runner-up in the 800m where Ava Hill picked up the victory in a time of 2:19.27.

Bailey Waldhauser (high jump) and Marquez Clerveaux (400m) were the final Gophers that picked up wins on Saturday with McKenzie Duwenhoegger finishing as the meet's runner-up in the hammer throw.
