Minnesota to Host Utah and Memphis at Baseline

The Maroon and Gold play Utah at 3:00 p.m. on Friday and Memphis at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday.
Minneapolis– The University of Minnesota tennis program is set to host Utah Utes and Memphis Tigers this weekend at Baseline Tennis Center. The Golden Gophers compete against the Utes at 3:00 p.m., on Friday and versus the Tigers at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday. Matches are free to attend.Â
The Gophers competed last weekend in Lincoln, Neb., against Washington State and Nebraska. Minnesota dropped both matches and is 4-4 on the season and 0-1 in the Big Ten.Â
The Competition
Utah is 7-2 overall and is coming off a 5-2 win against Indiana last weekend. Memphis is 1-8 overall, with its most recent match being a 5-2 loss to Louisville on Feb. 19. Â
All-Time History Â
Minnesota met Utah for the first time during the season of 1978-79, when the Gophers fell 4-5 to Utah. Over the years, the Maroon and Gold are 0-9 against Utah. The Golden Gophers are 3-2 all-time versus Memphis. Minnesota first competed against Memphis during the 2016-17 season, securing a 4-3 victory in their first matchup.Â
