MINNEAPOLIS -- The University of Minnesota women's gymnastics team claimed victory on Saturday night, beating Illinois by a score of 196.675 to 195.775.

Notable
Junior Mya Hooten delivered a breathtaking performance on floor as she so often does, earning a perfect 10.000 in the final routine of the evening.

The Woodbury, Minn. native also claimed the event title in the all-around with a score of 39.675.

Senior Halle Remlinger also had a show-stopping performance on floor, as she earned a 9.950.

"Today was actually magical. I've been working really hard to compete all-around and to get that all-around score felt really great to be out here and the fans made it 10 times better," Hooten said.

"We're excited about the next few weeks. We feel like we're making progress each and every week," head coach Jenny Hansen said. "We know there's a lot more room for growth here with this team. So we'll keep putting them in different pressure situations, like planning on ending on beam, and continue to keep building confidence there."
