Gophers Complete Final Round at the Johnnie-O at Sea Island

MINNEAPOLIS - The University of Minnesota Men's Golf team completed its final round at the Sea Island Shootout Tuesday in St. Simon's Island, Ga.Â
The Gophers finished in 13th place overall with a team score of 36-over par (294-295-287-876). Kansas State won the tournament with a team score of 1-over par (288-273-278-839).
Quotable:
"Obviously our performance at the Johnnie-O was not what we were hoping for," said Gophers head coach Justin Smith. "We will get back to work on our fundamentals of driving the ball well, making better decisions into the greens and cleaning up our short game in preparation for the Valspar Intercollegiate."
Notable:
Playing as an individual, senior Connor Glynn tied his season-low (69) for the second straight round. Glynn also recorded a season-best finish as he tied for ninth. It was also tied for the highest finish as an individual at the tournament.Â
Sophomore Eduardo Galdos tallied five birdies in his final round and finished at even-par. Galdos finished in a tie for 39th at 8-over (74-74-70-218).Â
Junior Ben Warian and senior Antoine Sale each ended in a tie for 45th. Warian completed his final round with a score of one-over par and was 9-over for the tournament. Sale fired a 3-over 73 Tuesday.
