Gophers Look to Build Off of Strong Fall Season at Colleton River Collegiate

MINNEAPOLIS - The University of Minnesota Men's Golf team is set to kick off its spring schedule with a trip down to Blufton, S.C., to compete in the Colleton River Collegiate, Monday and Tuesday.
The tournament is a 54-hole, two-day event that is played at Colleton River Club in Blufton, S.C.

Lineup - The Gophers will be represented by seniors Lincoln Johnson, Antoine Sale, and Harrison Arnold, junior Ben Warian, sophomore Eduardo Galdos, and freshman Mason Roloff.
The Field - The team will be competing against multiple Big Ten teams including No. 24 Ohio State, Michigan State, Indiana, Rutgers and Penn State. The rest of the field comprises of No. 20 Kansas State, No. 25 Georgia Southern, Iowa State, Cincinnati, Missouri, and Memphis.
Behind Colleton River - The Gophers will be competing on the Nicklaus course at Colleton River Club. Measuring around 7,100 yards, the Nicklaus course went under major renovations in 2017 to add scenic elements. Nicklaus considers his course at Colleton River "one of his finest accomplishments."
Fall Recap - The Gophers' fall season was highlighted by four top-four finishes, including an impressive win at the MacDonald Cup in late September, a second-place finish at the Alister Mackenzie Invitational, and fourth-place finishes at the Gopher Invitational and Big Ten Match Play. Junior Ben Warian had a standout fall with a third-place finish at the MacDonald Cup and a team-best scoring average of 70.93. Senior Antoine Sale also had a strong fall with another third-place finish at the Alister Mackenzie Invitational.
