MINNEAPOLIS - The University of Minnesota Men's Golf team completed its first 36 holes Monday at the Valspar Collegiate in Palm City, Fla.
The Gophers hold 15th place overall with a combined team score of 16-over par (291-293–584).
Texas Tech sits atop the leaderboard at 18-under par (277-273–550), followed by No. 3 North Carolina (-15) and No. 4 Florida State (-10).
Notable:
Junior Ben Warian leads Minnesota with a score of 4-under par (67-71-138). One of eight players to be 4-under or better in the opening round, Warian tallied eight birdies over his first 36 holes and currently is tied for 10th place.
Graduate Lincoln Johnson and senior Antoine Sale both notched seven birdies over their first two rounds. After each shot 142 over their first two rounds, Johnson (74-73) and Sale (75-72) sit in a tie for 56th with a score of 5-over par.
Senior Connor Glynn (78-77) is currently in 83rd, while sophomore Eduardo Galdos (75-83) sits in a tie for 85th after 36 holes.
