Gophers Complete Final Round at the Valspar Collegiate

PALM CITY, FL - The University of Minnesota Men's Golf team wrapped up its final round of the Valspar Collegiate on Tuesday. 

The Gophers finished in 15th place with an overall team score of 18-over par (291-293-286–870). Third-ranked North Carolina took home the win with an overall score of 27-under par (275-278-272–825). 

Notable:
Junior Ben Warian tallied five birdies in his final round as he finished in a tie for 30th with a score of 1-under par (67-71-74). 

Sophomore Eduardo Galdos tied his season best round of 68 by tallying five birdies in his final 18 holes, and he also had the most pars on the team over his 54 holes with 32. Galdos played his final round at 3-under par (75-83-67), placing him in a tie for 78th. 

Senior Antoine Sale shot a 1-under 70 in his final round that included three birdies and an eagle on the par-4 sixth hole. Sale finished in 55th place in the tournament with a score of 4-over par (75-72-70). 

Graduate Lincoln Johnson finished in a tie for 68th (74-73-74), and senior Connor Glynn finished in 85th (78-77-75).

"Ben Warian had a solid week." Gophers head coach Justin Smith said. "We need to get more consistency from our regular starters. We will get back to work this week to ensure that we can have that much needed consistency when we head to Missouri."

The Gophers will play next in the Tiger Collegiate, April 10-11, in Columbia, Mo., at the Club at Old Hawthorne.
