Maroon and Gold Travel to Arkansas for Regular Season Finale

MINNEAPOLIS – The University of Minnesota women's gymnastics team is coming off a tremendous performance against Boise State last Saturday, a night that featured back-to-back perfect 10s from senior Halle Remlinger and junior Mya Hooten.
Last Time Out
Remlinger was named Big Ten Co-Event Specialist of the Week after achieving perfection on floor for the first time in her career. The weekly award was also the first of her career.
Hooten earned her sixth perfect 10 on floor against the Broncos, during which she also earned a 9.900 on vault and bars.
Junior Gianna Gerdes had a career day as well, tying a career-high all-around score of 39.500. Included in that score is a career-high 9.900 on bars, 9.825 on vault and beam, and a 9.950 on floor (tied a career high).
Gophers in the Rankings
Minnesota comes in at No. 19 in the RoadToNationals rankings ahead of their matchup with the Arkansas Razorbacks. They rank No. 11 on vault, No. 19 on bars, No. 45 on beam and No. 11 on floor.
Junior Mya Hooten, continuing her dominant season in 2023, ranks No. 2 in the nation on floor ahead of Friday's meet. Before the Big Five meet, Hooten ranked No. 1 in the nation in the event.
Senior Halle Remlinger has been a model of consistency on floor this season, and after her first career perfect 10 against Boise State, she comes in at No. 13 in the rankings.
B1G Weekly Awards
Junior Mya Hooten has earned B1G Weekly awards on three separate occasions in 2023, earning Big Ten Specialist of the Week honors twice and Big Ten Co-Gymnast of the Week once. Junior Gianna Gerdes was named Big Ten Co-Gymnast of the Week as well, her first weekly conference award of her career. Freshman Seria Johnson earned Big Ten Freshman of the Week after her performance at the Wasatch Classic, where the Gophers competed against Boise State. Redshirt senior Maddie Quarles earned her very first Big Ten Weekly award on March 1, as she was named Big Ten Event Specialist of the Week. Senior Halle Remlinger was named Co-Event Specialist of the Week after her perfect 10 on floor against Boise State.

The Razorbacks enter their matchup with the Gophers after a win against SEC foe Georgia, during which Arkansas won by a score of 197.150 to 196.875. The Razorbacks are 2-5 in SEC competition this season, with their other win coming against LSU on Jan. 27. During their meeting with the Tigers, they set a new program record team score of 197.475.
Arkansas is a tremendously well-rounded squad, as they rank No.15 on vault and bars, No. 16 on beam, and No. 17 on floor. Graduate student Norah Flatley earned an all-around score of 39.550 in her last outing against the Bulldogs, scoring 9.900 on bars and floor while also earning a 9.925 on beam.
Head coach Jordyn Wiber -- Olympic gold medalist -- enters her fourth season at the helm of the program. In 2022, Wieber led the Razorbacks to their 18th consecutive regional appearance and second straight regional final.

After concluding regular-season competition, the Gophers will travel to Coralville, Iowa for the Big Ten Championships on March 18. They will compete in the 11 a.m. CT session, broadcast on Big Ten Network.
