Gophers Set to Begin Big Ten Championships Friday

MINNEAPOLIS - The University of Minnesota Men's Golf team begins its postseason play at the Big Ten Championships Friday at Galloway National Golf Club in Galloway, N.J.
Competition starts at 8 a.m. CT on both Friday and Saturday, while Sunday's final round tees off at 7 a.m. CT.
Last year, the Gophers finished 10th at the event with an overall team score of 907 (+50). The University of Illinois is the seven-time defending champion, while the Golden Gophers were the last team other than the Illini to take home the title, doing so in 2014.
In its history, Minnesota has won the team title eight times and had 10 individual champions. Most recently, Angus Flanagan tied for first place in 2019.

Last Time Out:
The Gophers concluded the regular season at the Redhawk Intercollegiate in Fox Chapel, Pa., last week, finishing with a combined team score of 34-over par (295-298-293–886). Junior Ben Warian (73-74-71–218) finished in ninth place overall, and graduate Jacob Pedersen (73-74-72–219) came in 12th.
Lineup:
The Gophers will be represented by Pedersen and fellow graduate Lincoln Johnson, senior Harrison Arnold, a junior in Warian, and sophomores Eduardo Galdos and Bennett Swavely.
The Field:
All 14 teams in the conference compete at the Big Ten Championships with No. 5 Illinois holding the highest ranking among the field.
The Course:
The 3-day, 54-hole tournament will be played at Galloway National Golf Club in Galloway, N.J. The course measures slightly above 7,100 yards and scores as a par-71.
