Tomorrow's series finale will be at 11 a.m. CT on BTN

COLLEGE PARK, Mary. -- The Minnesota Golden Gophers fell in game two at No. 19 Maryland, 14-5, evening the series at one apiece.

Redshirt sophomore right-hander George Klassen went 3.1 innings, letting up eight runs (five earned) with seven hits and five walks allowed.

Brett Bateman and Ike Mezzenga led the offense with two hits while Mezzenga hit his third home run of the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Maryland started the scoring with a two-out RBI single in the bottom of the first. They would add to their total in the bottom of the third with an RBI double from Nick Lorusso and a two-run single from Evan Lambros.

Ike Mezzenga put the Gophers on the board with a solo shot to right in the top of the fourth.

The Terps broke the game open in the bottom of the fourth with five runs. A three-run home run from Matt Shaw and a two-run shot from Matt Woods gave the home team a commanding 9-1 lead.

UMD added five more in the fifth, led by a Matt Woods three-run homer, to go up 14-1. The Gophers added two runs in the sixth after getting two hits, a hit-by-pitch, and two Terrapins errors.

The Gophers would add one more unearned run in the eighth for their fourth run. Easton Fritcher delivered a pinch hit single and came around to score for the team's fifth and final run in the ninth.
