Meyo Invite, Gopher Classic, Awaits Minnesota Track and Field

MINNEAPOLIS -- The Minnesota women's track and field team is headed to the Meyo Invitational in South Bend, Ind., on the campus of Notre Dame from Feb. 2-3 while also having competitors at the Gopher Classic on Feb. 3 at the University Fieldhouse.
About the 2024 Meyo Invitational
The two-day meet will start on Friday at 11:30 a.m. with the pentathlon while field events will start at 4 p.m. and track events at 4:30 p.m. Saturday's action will kick off at 10 a.m. on the track while the field events start at 11 a.m. The meet will have a portion of it streamed on ACCNX from 2 p.m. until 4:10 p.m. on Saturday with the final event being the 4x400m relay. The Meyo Invite will have live results available via Athletic.net.
About the 2024 Gopher Classic
Minnesota's next home meet is the Gopher Classic, a meet that will be held on Saturday, Feb. 3, with the men's pole vault kicking things off at 9:30 a.m. The track events will begin at 11:40 with the preliminary rounds of the hurdles. The meet will not be streamed and will have live results available via WayzataTiming.com.
LAST TIME OUT
The University of Minnesota saw true freshman Aidan Jones make the USATF World Team at the under-20 level division, finishing fourth in a field with some of the best young talent in the country. On the track the Gophers posted seven victories in Ann Arbor at the Simmons-Harvey Invitational with three different events posting top 10 program marks and times. IN THE RANKINGS
Minnesota currently stands at the No. 30 spot overall in the nation in the latest USTFCCCA women's rankings. The first Event Squad rankings also dropped this week with the women's weight throw the top group at No. 3 overall with an average throw of 20.32m (66-8). Minnesota's high jump crew also was in the top 10, while the 60m hurdles group and the pentathlon crew also sitting in the top 20.

Minnesota will be split between the Windy City Classic in Chicago, Ill., and the St. Thomas Showcase. The Windy City Classic will run from Feb. 9-10 while the meet at St. Thomas will be contested all on Friday, Feb. 9.
