Winter in Top Five After Round One, Second Round of Seahawk Intercollegiate Postponed

MINNEAPOLIS - Graduate senior Brock Winter leads the University of Minnesota after the first 18 holes of the Seahawk Intercollegiate Sunday in Wilmington, N.C.
Though the first day of the tournament called for 36 holes, the end of the second round was postponed until Monday morning due to darkness.
The Gophers finished the first round tied with Florida Atlantic for sixth in the team standings at 17-over par.
Davidson and Auburn lead the tournament after 18 holes at 12-over par. Campbell's Eric Johansson was the top individual after the first round at 1-under par; the only individual in the field to card an under-par round.
Notable:
After carding three birdies in round one, Winter finished just two shots off the individual lead with a 1-over 73. The Stillwater, Minn., native finished his first round tied for fourth place.
Senior Ben Warian nabbed four birdies in his first round of the tournament. Warian finished his first 18 holes just one shot back of Winter and tied for 11th place after a 74.
Graduate senior Jacob Pedersen finished the first round tied for 50th place with a score of 6-over par (78). Sophomore Cormac Sharpe finished two shots behind Pedersen, tied for 70th.
Junior Bennett Swavely capped off his day tied for 80th with an 82, sitting two shots behind Sharpe. Playing in his first tournament of the spring season, sophomore Mason Roloff finished round one tied for 90th.
