Maroon and Gold Wrap Up Play at Seahawk Intercollegiate

MINNEAPOLIS - The University of Minnesota men's golf team wrapped up competition at the Seahawk Intercollegiate Monday in Wilmington, N.C.

The second round of the tournament resumed early Monday after it was delayed on Sunday due to lack of daylight. The final round immediately followed the completion of the second round. 

The Gophers (305-309-299–913) finished the tournament in 13th place overall with a score of 49-over par. 

Auburn (300-287-288–875) took home the top team spot at 11-over par for the tournament. Campbell's Eric Johansson nabbed the top individual spot with a score of 8-under par. 

Notable:
Senior Ben Warian (74-79-75) tallied eight birdies across his 54 holes. Warian finished the tournament with a score of 12-over par, placing him in a tie for 45th place. 

Graduate senior Jacob Pedersen (78-78-75) and junior Bennett Swavely (82-79-70) both finished tied for 58th place overall at 15-over par. 

Sophomore Cormac Sharpe finished tied for 86th with a score of 24-over par.

Playing in his first tournament of the spring, and competing as an individual, sophomore Mason Roloff finished with a score of 32-over par and tied for 93rd place. 

The Gophers' top scorer through the opening two rounds, graduate senior Brock Winter did not compete in the final round due to withdrawing from the tournament. 

Up Next:
The Gophers travel to Columbia, Mo., April 8-9, to compete in the Tiger Collegiate.
