Frank, Nabwe Looking for NCAA Hardware in Boston

The NCAA Indoor Championships begin on Thursday and end on Saturday.
MINNEAPOLIS -- Two representatives from the Golden Gopher track & field program are scheduled to compete at the 2024 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships, hosted at The Track at New Balance, Boston, Mass., the first time the facility has hosted the NCAA Championships.
Nabwe and Frank at NCAA Indoors
Shelby Frank and Anthonett Nabwe are Minnesota's two individual qualifiers for the 2024 NCAA Indoor Championships with Frank making her second appearance in the event.
For Frank, her 24.09m (79-0 1/2) has her seeded at No. 3 for this year's event after finishing last year's NCAA Indoor Championships as the national runner up. Nabwe's first appearance comes off of the heels of her first Big Ten title just two weeks ago in Geneva, Ohio, where the redshirt freshman launched a season-best mark of 23.36m (76-7 3/4) to claim the crown. Nabwe and Frank will look to dethrone defending NCAA Champion Jalani Davis of Ole Miss, who enters this year's indoor championships as the No. 1 seed with a toss of 25.09m (82-3 3/4) that she set at the SEC Indoor Championships on Feb. 23.

Minnesota at the NCAA Indoor Championships
Minnesota has won two indoor women's titles in its history with Heather Dorniden winning the 800m title in 2006 while Kaitlyn Long won the 2018 weight throw championship. Minnesota's highest team finish at the NCAA Indoor Championships is 12th, which came in both 2006 and 2009. In 2009 it took 14 team points to reach 12th place as a team while in 2006 it took 19 points.
