Sunday's match celebrated the program's sole senior student-athlete, Zeyneb Sarioglan. Sarioglan was named team captain for the 2023-24 season, her fourth season in the program. Coach Arterberry on Zeyneb Sarioglan
"We're really thankful to our senior Zey for all of the dedication she has given to Gopher women's tennis," said head coach Lois Arterberry. "She's been a leader and role model for everybody in the program. Having a career with 21 singles wins and 22 doubles wins under all of the adversity she has been through is really impressive. Not only was she a role model on the court, but what she has been able to accomplish academically has also been great, completing a double major with a minor. I would like to personally thank her for making my transition here a smooth one, teaching me everything I needed to know to help to make this program better. We will surely miss her but we know that things will only get better for her as she transitions to the next chapter of her life. We will always be there to support her. We love you, Zey!"
