Augustine Sets School Record in 100 Meter Dash at LSU

He broke Kion Benjamin's former record of 10.07 in 2022
BATON ROUGE, La. -- The Minnesota track and field programs competed at both the LSU Alumni Gold Meet and the Holst Invitational, hosted by Concordia St. Paul. The two teams had a huge day, especially at the LSU Alumni Gold meet. On the day, the Gophers set one school record in addition to posting eight event victories and 14 personal-bests. 13 Gophers cracked the top-10 all-time lists as well.

Devin Augustine continued his terrific junior season by setting a school record (10.02) in the 100 meter dash at LSU. The score was the No. 3 time by any Division I athlete this season. It broke the previous school record of 10.07 by Kion Benjamin in 2022. Augustine also won the men's 200 meter dash with a time of 20.98, which placed him at No. 10 in school history. Charles Godred (21.41) finished second in the event. Also for the men, Ramy Ayoub (1:48.27) set a personal-best in the men's 800 meter race at LSU, taking home a victory. His time also put him at No. 10 in program history for the event. In the 110 meter hurdles, Christian Martin placed fourth with a time of 13.96 (No. 3 in school history). Charles Godred (7.99 m) won the men's long jump with the second best distance in Division I this season. His jump put him at No. 3 in program history in the event. He already holds the No. 1 spot (8.19 m), which he hit earlier this season. Angelos Mantzouranis (72.16 m) took first place in the hammer throw. On the field events, Jak Urlacher placed third in the pole vault (5.10 m).
On the women's side, Abigail Schaffe (59.48) set a personal-best in the women's 400 meter hurdles at LSU, taking sixth in the event. In the women's 100 meter dash (LSU), Odell Frye took second with a time of 11.19 while Victory Godah went 11.28 to finish third. Both times ranked in the top-20 of all Division I athletes this season. Fyre's time ranked second all-time in school history and it was her fourth victory in the event this season. In the 4x400 relay, the Gophers finished second with a time of 3:36.06 (eighth-best in school history). Minnesota's 4x100 relay team finished fifth with a time of 44.68, which put them at No. 6 in program history. Maja Maunsbach placed 11th in the 100 meter hurdles with a personal-best time of 13.34. Her time ranked No. 3 in the school record books.
In the field events, Diarra Sow (13.11 m) took first place in the triple jump while her teammate Brooke Moore (12.97 m) placed third and hit a personal record. Sow's triple jump ranked fifth in school history while Moore's ranks eighth. Sow's jump ranked No. 8 of all athletes this season in Division I. Anthonett Nabwe (16.60 m) set a new personal-best and took third in the women's shot put. Her throw ranks No. 6 all-time in the program's top-10 list. Alliyah McNeil (1.79m) won the women's high jump while Alexys Berger (3.95 m) placed second in the women's pole vault at LSU. Shelby Frank (64.86 m), Anthonett Nabwe (59.76 m) and Hadley Streit (57.85 m) all earned personal-bests in the hammer throw. They finished third, fourth and sixth, respectively, in the event. Shelby's throw ranked No. 3 all-time in program history. Shelby Frank also finished second in the discus throw with a toss of 59.84 meters.

Minnesota also sent several student-athletes on the women's side to the Holst Invitational at Concordia St. Paul on Saturday. Hailey Anchor took second in her heat in the women's 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1:04.03. Three Gophers finished in the the top five of the women's 1500 meter race. Izzy Roemer (4:36.40) took first while Lila Branchaw (4:37.69) placed second and Anna Lien (4:43.88) took fifth.Â
