MINNEAPOLIS -- Sophomore standout Isabella McCauley (Inver Grove Heights, Minn.) was named All-Big Ten Second Team, the conference announced. It is her second Big Ten all-conference team selection in her two-year Golden Gopher career. This is the fifth Big Ten honor of her career after being named to Big Ten Golfer of the Week three times and being named All-Big Ten Second Team during her freshman campaign.
"It is an incredible honor to earn All-Big Ten recognition," said head coach Rhyll Brinsmead. "For Bella to go back-to-back years is a testament to her talent, work ethic, and commitment. We are so proud of her and cannot wait to see what she does in the postseason."
McCauley has earned three top-ten and two top-20 finishes in her sophomore season. She was crowned champion at the Boilermaker Classic and was named Big Ten tri-champion at the Big Ten Championship on Apr. 21. McCauley averaged a team-low 72.19 and had her individual score count for 90.6 percent of all rounds played in the 2023-24 season. She is ranked 73rd headed into the NCAA Regional in Auburn Ala. from May 6-8.
Graduate Megan Furtney (St. Charles, Ill.) was named Minnesota's Sportsmanship Award honoree. Furtney played in all 11 tournaments this season and her individual score counted for 62.5 percent of rounds played in her lone year as a Gopher. This is her first Big Ten honor and caps off her collegiate career.
