Golden Gophers Sweep Triple Dual versus Northwestern & Purdue

MINNEAPOLIS- The Golden Gopher men's and women' swim and dive programs defeated Northwestern and Purdue in a two-day tri-dual.
The No. 23 ranked women defeated Northwestern 241-112 and Purdue 241-112. The men took down the Wildcats 232.50-120.50 and Boilermakers 248-105.
On the men's side Joey Tepper got things started in 400 IM where he touched first with a season's best time of 3:48.22.
In the men's 500 Minnesota went one through three. Bar Soloveychik touched first with 4:17.14, Tepper second (4:23.67), and Luke Brennan third (4:23.84).
Max Scheurer touched first with a season's best of 1:54.03 in the 200 breast, Joe Rudd came in second with a 1:55.65.
On the women's side freshman Livi Wanner came in first in the 100 free with a season's best 48.42.
The Gopher women also went one through three in the 500. Katie McCarthy placed first (4:42.16), Eliot Kennedy placed second (4:42.20), and Anja Kaljevic (4:48.25).
Ava Gustafson touched first in the 200 breast with a 2:11.01 which is a season's best.
The women's 400 free relay of Hannah Cornish, Livi Wanner, Morgan Thomas, and Mina Kaljevic touched first with a 3:16.61 which is a season's best for this squad.
In the diving well, the Gophers placed first in both the men's and women's platform. Drew Bennett won the men's with 425.60 and Vivi Del Angel the women's with a 336.10.
The Gophers are back in action at Jean K. Freeman Aquatic Center Feb. 7-8 for the first chance meet.
