FORT WORTH, Texas -- The No. 13 Minnesota gymnastics team finished its historic 52nd season with a fourth place finish at the NCAA Gymnastics Championships. Minnesota's previous best finish was sixth in 2022, and it was topped today.

Oklahoma placed first with a score of 198.1625 while LSU took second (198.0750) and Florida was third (197.6875).

"You know, we had another steady day in front of us," said head coach Jenny Hansen. "The team didn't give it if something didn't go perfectly. They never gave up. I'm so proud of this team and everything they accomplished this season."

The Gophers earned scores of 49.2750 on vault, 49.2625 on bars, 49.4500 on beam and 49.4375 on floor.

Multiple Golden Gophers competed in the last meet's of their careers, including Gianna Gerdes. The fifth-year senior made her school-record third nationals appearance with the team and ended her time at Minnesota with a 9.9000 vault.

"I'm so glad Gianna got to end that way," Hansen said. "To go out like that at the national championships the way she did is so wonderful. A great end to a terrific career.

Minnesota ended its season with a 30-12 (7-2 B1G) record. The team posted a school record in wins and made it the furthest of any team in the program's 52 years. Hansen commented on what's in store next year for the Golden Gophers.

"I think this experience is going to carry the team forward for so long. Our athletes know what it takes to get here now. You can't tell anybody that, they have to experience it," she said.
