Minnesota's men's tennis dominated the competition on day three of the Men's ITA Regional Championships at the Baseline Tennis Center in Minneapolis, Minn. Home court advantage rang true as the Gophers compiled a 2-1 record in doubles and a perfect 6-0 record in singles competition on the day.

The morning began in the doubles bracket where, after all received first round byes, two of the three Gopher teams defeated opponents in the second round. Eric Frueh and Brendan Ruddock met Bradley's Ashton Kalhorn and Hamish Weerasinghe to an 8-5 defeat. Rok Bonin and Leandro Toledo also teamed up to edge out Tomislav Gregurovic and Ruillermo Nicol of Wichita State, 9-7.

In solo competition, the Gophers saw even more success, playing for a perfect day of six wins in six outings. Brendan Ruddock found victory in three sets (6-2, 4-6, 6-4) against Hall Fess (Arkansas), while Juan Pablo Ramirez finished with the win in two (6-2, 6-2) over St. Louis' Bobby Kidera.

As the No. 4 seed in the tournament, Leandro Toledo dominated his match against Oklahoma's Harry Warden; 6-1, 6-0. Mathieu Froment played against Ryan Norman (Creighton) for the easy 6-0, 6-1 put away. Rok Bonin, the No. 6 seed in the tournament, and Ruben Weber each collected 6-3, 6-2 victories against their respective opponents.

The Gophers look to continue their success tomorrow. Day three of the tournament will consist of two more rounds of dingles and one round of doubles competition. Matches begin at 9 a.m.
