Summer Update: Jeremy Lynn
6/29/2015 12:00:00 AM | Men's Tennis
Throughout the summer we will be we will be getting an update on what some of the Golden Gopher men's tennis players are up to. We got the chance to ask Junior Jeremy Lynn a couple questions to start this series.
Gopher Sports: What have you been up to so far this summer? Have you seen any of the other players?
Jeremy Lynn: The past month I have been in Philadelphia with my family. Playing a lot of basketball and ping pong with my little brother Jonah. We have gone to the tennis court a couple times as well. I have been training quite a bit and am also doing an internship at the Legacy Youth Tennis and Education Center. I have also been able to hang out with some of my old friends which is always a blast.
I Have not seen any of the guys this summer but the occasional snapchat will have to suffice.
GS: Your profile says you enjoy reading and music. Reading any good books this summer?
JL: Yeah, I just finished Franny and Zooey which is a Salinger classic and at the moment I am reading two interesting books about life. One is called Being Peace by Thich Nhat Hanh. It is a great read as well as a reminder to be appreciative of the life I live and try to live in the moment.
GS: Favorite type of music?
JL: I have eclectic taste when it comes to music. My favorite song right now is My Way by Fetty Wap. Which I guess you could call hip-hop, it is really catchy, but if you are looking for some inspiring or profound lyrics he might not be your cup of tea. I would recommend Kendrick Lamar.
GS: Most binge worthy Netflix series?
JL: I am getting back into Game of Thrones which is great but the hour long episodes make it a time commitment and not something I can watch during the school year. Also Silicon Valley is hilarious and I would highly recommend it. If we are strictly talking Netflix I would go with House of Cards.
GS: Funniest memory from this past tennis season?
JL: If you were present at most of Pep's (Mathiew Froment) matches you would be in for a good laugh or just being around him at all. I have told him he has true stand up potential. Also I think the tennis team's interpretation of Crank Dat by Soulja Boy was pretty hilarious. When the beat hits him Felix (Corwin) has a way of losing himself in the music and it is quite magical.
GS: If you could pick any movie actor to portray you who would it be and why?
JL: If I could be any actor it would be a toss-up between Samuel L. Jackson or Morgan Freeman, no explanation needed.
GS: Any big plans for the rest of the summer?
JL: I leave for England July 1 with my dad. We are going to be there for a little over a week. I think we are going to get to go to Wimbledon. Then I am going back home to Missouri to be with my Mom although she is deserting me for 2 weeks by going to Israel. Cannot say I blame her. I have got some tournaments in July and August and I am also doing an internship at a Television Station in Joplin.
