Minnesota Wins All Minnesota Invite Day 2 Races

The Gophers continued to improve their times, and picked up wins in all events contested on the second day of the inaugural Minnesota Invite. The meet will conclude Saturday at the Jean K. Freeman Aquatic Center with prelims at 9 a.m. and finals at 5 p.m.
MEN
Daryl Turner won a pair of individual races on the evening. He posted a career in-season best of 47.16 to win the 100 fly. Tuomas Pokkinen and Matthew Thomas took second and third.
Turner later won the 100 back in 47.93. Noah Busch was second in 49.93.
Brian Poon caught teammate John Bushman on the final freestyle length of the 400 IM. Poon's in-season career-best time of 3:54.05 edged out Bushman by .06.
Eric Sande and Paul Fair clocked in with in-season career bests. Sande won the 100 breast in 55.51, and Fair won the 200 free in 1:38.32.
With a time of 1:28.44, Turner, Sande, Fair and Bowe Becker captured the 200 medley relay victory.
WOMEN
Danielle Nack grabbed her second win of the meet in the 100 fly. She swam a career in-season best of 53.87 to finish ahead of Tevyn Waddell (54.70).
Freshman Tevyn Waddell swam a 54.44 to win the 100 backstroke. It was her second individual win of the meet, as she took the 200 IM gold on Thursday. Both Nack and Waddell previously had NCAA "B" cuts in their winning events, but they accomplished that feat again on Friday night.
Chantal Nack swam a personal record time in the 200 free as she won in 1:49.08. She also had a PR in the 500 free during the meet, on Thursday night.
Breanne Siwicki won the 400 IM in 4:21.68. Rina Krupsky (2:25.05) out-touched Emery by .01 for second place.
Rae Bullinger won the 100 breaststroke in 1:02.63. Her time was a career in-season best.
Zoe Avestruz, Bullinger, Danielle Nack and Allison Schumacher won the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:42.37.
