Gophers Fall 4-1 at Iowa

The University of Minnesota Gophers lost 4-1 to No. 56 Iowa on Sunday with Matic Spec grabbing the only point.
Felix Corwin and Josip Krstanovic were successful at No. 3 doubles winning 7-5 in just their second match together. The Hawkeyes took home the doubles point, winning at the No. 1 and 2 spots. The point came down to the No. 2 spot with Spec and Jeremy Lynn battling to a 7-5 loss.
In singles play, Spec earned the only point for the Gophers on Sunday, taking home a 7-5, 6-0 win at the No. 1 spot. The win marks his 12th on the season.
Marino Alpeza fell at the No. 4 spot 6-1, 6-4, moving to 11-13 on the season.
Iowa took two more victories at the No. 5 and 6 spot, securing a win. Ruben Weber and Corwin's matches went unfinished after both winning their first set.
The Gophers will travel to Illinois next weekend to take on Illinois on Friday and Northwestern on Sunday.
