Minnesota Remains Undefeated at Home

Minneapolis, Minn. -- The University of Minnesota remained undefeated with a 4-3 victory over Dartmouth Friday evening at Baseline Tennis Center.
Doubles
No. 48 Felix Corwin and Matic Spec had a quick doubles match by defeating Roko Glasnovic and Diego Pedraza 6-1 in the No. 1 doubles spot. Soon after the No. 2 squad of Marino Alpeza and Eli Ogilvy fell 6-4 to Max Fliegner and George Wall.
With the first two doubles matches spilt, the No. 3 duo of Stefan Milicevic and Jesse Sprinkel took on David Horneffer and Max Schmidt. The pairs battled to a tie breaker that resulted in a 7-6(2) Big Green victory giving them a 1-0 lead heading into the singles matches.
Singles
The singles portion of the night started with Josip Krstanovic falling to Schmidt 6-2, 6-4 to make it 2-0 Dartmouth. No. 42 Matic Spec picked up the first Gopher point of the night with a 7-5, 6-3 win over Ciro Riccardi.
Ogilvy tied the match 2-2 when he defeated Charlie Broom 6-4, 7-6(3) in the No. 4 spot. The Big Green regained the lead when Fliegner defeated Corwin in the third set 3-6, 6-2, 6-4 in the No. 2 spot.
Alpeza tied it up at 3-3 when he battled back after falling in the first 6-2 by winning the next two sets 7-6(4), 6-3. The final match of the night came down to the third set between Milicevic and Horneffer. Milicevic won the first match 7-5 but Horneffer took the second set 6-0. The two battled in the third set but Milicevic clinched the win for the Gophers with a 7-5 victory.
