No. 17 Gophers Home For Final Non-Conference Weekend

The No. 17 University of Minnesota Men's Tennis team is at home this weekend for a dual on Friday against Washington, and a dual against Drake on Sunday.
The Gophers will look to improve upon their 9-1 record going into Big Ten play after this weekend.
WHO'S UP
The Gophers will face up against Washington (3-5) at 5 pm on Friday. The Huskies are 0-2 against Big Ten opponents, after falling to both No. 16 Michigan and Wisconsin earlier in the season. Along with the loss to Michigan, the Huskies have also lost to No. 8 Texas, giving them an 0-2 record against ranked opponents.
Washington is led by Enzo Sommer, a 6-foot-4 senior from Switzerland, at No. 1 singles, and Piers Foley, a senior from Great Britain. The Huskies are coming off of a 6-1 win at home against San Diego State, and have yet to win on the road this season.
At 3 pm on Sunday, Minnesota will play their final non-conference dual against the Drake Bulldogs. Drake (10-4) is 3-0 against Big ten opponents, earning wins over Purdue, Nebraska and Indiana thus far this season. The Bulldogs have only faced one ranked opponent thus far this season, No. 13 Oklahoma, and fell 4-0 on the road. Minnesota's lone loss on the season, Oregon, also topped Drake 6-1 last week.in Des Moines. Minnesota already has some experience with Drake's lineup from this past fall, as the Bulldogs were participants in the Gopher Invitational in early November.
Drake is led by the All-Summit League award winning seniors Vinny Gillespie at No. 1 singles and Tom Hands at No. 2 singles. Calum MacGeoch, who usually lines up at the No. 5 spot for Drake, won the ITA Summer Circuit series at Baseline Tennis Center in June, where Jackson Allen advanced to the semifinals.
