Gophers Return to Baseline for Non-Conference Weekend

MINNEAPOLIS - The University of Minnesota Men's Tennis team returns home for two dual matches against Dartmouth Friday at 6 pm and Marquette Saturday at 6 pm.
LAST TIME OUT
Minnesota is coming off the back of back-to-back wins against SEC opponents, toppling No. 19 Alabama 4-3, and sweeping Auburn 7-0. Minnesota saw an inspired effort from senior Josip Krstanovic with his ranked win over No. 24 Mazen Osama of Alabama, and a clean sweep in No. 1 singles over Auburn. Along with Krstanovic, Stefan Milicevic and Jackson Allen both earned ranked wins against Alabama, while Milicevic earned one over No. 77 Brandon Laubser of Auburn as well.
ABOUT DARTMOUTH
Dartmouth has gotten off to a rocky start in the spring, starting off 3-2. After a close win against Kentucky, the Big Green have dropped two straight against Ivy League rival No. 14 Columbia and Louisville coming into Friday's match. Dartmouth also participated in the Gopher Invitational in the fall, making them a familiar face for most of the Gophers roster. Dartmouth features junior Charlie Broom at the top of the lineup for singles and doubles. The All-Ivy League player will likely face off against Krstanovic in both singles and doubles.
ABOUT MARQUETTE
The Marquette Golden Eagles are another familiar face for Minnesota, as they participated in the Gopher Invite in the fall as well. Marquette, also 3-2, are coming off a split weekend, losing to Purdue 4-3 and defeating Valpo 5-2. The Golden Eagles are headlined by Alvaro Verdu, the former Big East player of the year.
