No. 18 Gophers Fall to Nebraska 4-3 on the Road

LINCOLN, NEBRASKA - The University of Minnesota Men's Tennis team fell to Nebraska on the road 4-3 Sunday. Minnesota (12-3, 1-2 Big Ten) suffered their first back-to-back losses on the season.
"Today, I give Nebraska all the credit," head coach Geoff Young said. They are obviously well-coached and were just better than us. We will try to learn and use this to improve for the upcoming weeks."
DOUBLES
Justyn Levin and Josip Krstanovic dropped No. 1 doubles 6-1 to Toby Boyer and Will Gleason, losing their second doubles match of the weekend. Eli Ogilvy was paired up with sophomore Vlad Lobak ffor the first time this season, and fell 6-3 to Micah Klousia and Victor Moreno in No. 2 doubles. Marino Alpeza and Stefan Milicevic's match in No. 3 doubles against Chris Dean and Isaac Nortey was left unfinished with a score of 3-3.
SINGLES
Minnesota went down 2-0 to Nebraska after Will Gleason's 6-2, 6-2 win over Jackson Allen in the No. 2 spot, while Marino Alpeza earned the clean sweep shortly after with his 6-1, 6-4 win over Victor Moreno. Josip Krstanovic then fell 7-6 (1), 6-4 to Toby Boyer, while Vlad Lobak defeated Chris Dean 6-4, 6-4 in No. 6 singles. Nebraska earned the win when Isaac Nortey defeated Eli Ogilvy 5-7, 6-3, 7-5 in No. 5 singles. Stefan Milicevic earned Minnesota's final point with his 7-5, 3-6, 6-3 win over Micah Klousia in No. 2 singles.
"After two dissapointing conference losses we have to get bac to work and rediscover the passion for the sport," associate head coach Urban Ljubic said. "Congratulations to Nebraska and their team for playing aggressive and not backing down."
UP NEXT
Minnesota will hit the road again next weekend, facing Penn State on Friday and Ohio State on Sunday.
