Gophers Fall in 7-0 Sweep to No. 1 Ohio State

COLUMBUS, OHIO - The University of Minnesota Men's Tennis Team fell 7-0 to No. 1 Ohio State Sunday. Minnesota (12-5, 1-4 Big Ten) is now on a four match losing streak.
"Ohio State is a tough team and deserved a solid win," head coach Geoff Young. "We are looking forward to a week of practice before Purdue and Indiana this weekend. Our aggressiveness is improving, but we need to stay committed to it. This is the point in the season where our toughness will be tested. It's time to see what we're really made of."
DOUBLES
Ohio State touted two ranked pairings in doubles, providing a storng front for the Nuckeyes. No. 10 Kyle Seelig and John McNally defeated Marino Alpeza and Justyn Levin 6-3 in No. 2 doubles, while Hunter Tubert and John McNally defeated Stefan Milicevic and Josip Krstanovic 6-3 in No. 3 doubles. No. 24 JJ Wolf and Martin Joyce were leading Jackson Allen and Eli Ogilvy 5-4 in No. 1 doubles upon clinching of the doubles point.
SINGLES
Ohio State came into the dual with their top five singles competitors ranked in the top 110. No. 1 JJ Wolf defeated No. 47 Josip Krstanovic 6-2, 6-0 in No. 1 singles, while No. 102 Alex Kobelt defeated Eli Ogilvy 6-2, 6-3 in No. 5 singles. No. 23 John McNally defeated Stefan Milicevic 6-3, 6-1 in No. 2 singles, No. 65 Kyle Seelig defeated Vlad Lobak 6-2, 6-2 in No. 4 singles and James Trotter defeated Sebastian Vile 6-4, 6-2 in No. 6 singles. Marino Alpeza went three sets with No. 108 Martin Joyce in No. 3 singles, but ultimately lost 6-7 (3-7), 6-1, 11-9.
